The Medical Laboratory Scientists Association of Tanzania (MeLSAT) is pleased to announce the Call for Abstracts for its 38ᵗʰ Annual Scientific Conference, Exhibition, and Annual General Meeting. The 2025 conference will be held at the stunning Kwatunza Beach in Mwanza from 24ᵗʰ to 26ᵗʰ September.

This year’s theme, “Advancing Diagnostic Innovations in the Era of Artificial Intelligence,” highlights the growing impact of AI and digital transformation in clinical laboratory science. We invite all laboratory professionals, researchers, academics, students, policymakers, and stakeholders in health and diagnostics to contribute to this vital conversation by sharing their research findings, innovations, and practical experiences.

Sub-Themes Include (but are not limited to):

  • ✅ Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR)
  • ✅ Genomics and Metagenomics in Diagnostics
  • ✅ Emerging and Re-emerging Diseases

  • ✅ Role of Artificial Intelligence in Clinical Laboratory Testing
  • ✅ Communicable and Non-communicable Diseases
  • ✅ Advanced Molecular Technologies for Infectious Pathogens
  • ✅ Laboratory Outbreak Investigation, Response, and the One Health Approach

Abstract Submission Guidelines:

  • Abstracts should be written in clear English not exceed 300 words
  • Font size should be 12, Arial or Times New Roman
  • Structure your abstract with the following headings: Title, Background, Objective, Methodology, Results, and Conclusion
  • Submit abstracts in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format
  • Include the full names, affiliations, and email addresses of corresponding author
  • The presenting author must register and attend the conference
  • All submitted abstracts will be peer-reviewed and selected based on scientific merit and relevance to the theme
