Medical Laboratory Professionals Week (Lab Week) is an annual celebration of the medical laboratory professionals and pathologists who play a vital role in every aspect of health care. Lab Week is a chance to let people know about the dedication and commitment of Lab professionals to deliver quality health services for the betterment of patient care.

MeLSAT in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare and various other stakeholders will hold the Lab. Week Celebrations from 20th–25th April 2014 in Sumbawanga-Rukwa.

The following activities have been planned for this year Lab Week celebrations;

• Humanitarian activities.
• Free Diagnostic tests to the public for various diseases e.g. Diabetes,HIV/AIDS, Malaria, Hepatitis and HB Estimation.
• Blood Donation.
• Health education to the public.Three days Seminar on Applied Research.
• Exhibition.
• Fund raising dinner.
